Sexual Health for Young People

Sex can be an important part of our lives and it can bring up a variety of feelings; both good and bad. It can be exciting, fun and loving but nerves and worries can also be part of the mix. This is why is it important that we feel ready to make that next step.
This page provides information and signposting to services relating to sexual health for young people. You will also find useful links and resources, local sexual health services and useful videos around sexual health in order to help you find what you are looking for.

To live a healthy lifestyle we should feel good mentally, emotionally and physically. Good sexual health means that we understand consent, avoid infections, illnesses and take responsibility to ensure that we protect ourselves and others, both physically and emotionally.

Throughout our teens (and sometimes earlier) we experience significant changes to our bodies, both physically and emotionally. Sexual health is an integral and important part of our overall health. NHS Choices provide a wide range of information relating to ‘Sex and Young People’. To find out more click here.
